Eight teams will be competing on the day with Ladies 7s kicking off at 11am. Several local players are keen to run a Tenterfield team, so there may be some familiar faces on the paddock to cheer on.
At noon the Bumblebees take on Robb College in a third grade clash which will see the boys stretch their legs and gauge their form.
That's followed at 1.15pm by a first-grade game of Ballina against Armidale City, in their first games on Tenterfield soil.
The program finishes on a high with Wollongbar 1st grade (winner of last year's North Coast premiership) against Robb College 1st grade (winner of the New England premiership).
Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Support Group's 'Dodge' Landers said it will be a very big day of rugby, with spectators travelling from as far as Brisbane.
Proceeds from the day go to the support group, with bacon-and-egg rolls on offer for a late breakfast, along with steak and sausage sandwiches throughout the day and a bar operating.
Festivities move on to the bar at the showground in the evening, with a band playing. Many of the visitors are bringing swags and camping in the shearing pavilion, so a good night is in store.
Last year's rugby day raised $9000 for the rescue helicopter, but Bumblebees manager Phil Jones is aiming for $15,000 this year, to add to the massive $26,500 earned from the recent golf day.
