With the availability of cattle down due to the dry conditions, entries were limited to 100 for each of the maiden, novice and open drafts. Organiser Peter Zeller said, however, the event attracted the field that the Show Society wanted, creating a great day of competition.
READ ALSO:
Along with local competitors there were riders from the coast and south east Queensland as well as an intrepid four from central Queensland that included Tenterfield on their competition circuit.
There was extra appreciation this year for the cattle donors, with honorary Show Society memberships presented to Michael and Beth Moore for their ongoing support. Cattle was also provided by the Willcocks, Sharp and Jarrett families.
Mr Zeller said the cattle were in excellent condition and well cared for, and all due credit to the Show Society for running the event so well in drought conditions.
