The faithful gathered last Sunday for the official reopening of the church following the efforts of not only the Mobile Mission Maintenance team but also local builder Tom Murphy and painter Paul Lyons to breathe new life into the aging structure. The church's facelift was courtesy of a $100,000 grant from the Heritage Near Me program, helping to deal with rotting timbers undermining the structure. Pastor Seymour hopes the building will now become more of a community-use venue.
In addition to replacing rotten timbers, the project included relocating the ramp, new timber stairs and floor coverings, and repainting both inside and out.
