The races have been specifically designed to be suitable for kids of all ages and fitness levels. The Spartan Kids race is roughly one to two kilometres long depending on the course.
The Big Kids, aged 9-13 years, complete two laps of the course while the Spartan Juniors, who are 3-8 years old, complete one lap.
Spartan events are becoming quite the family outing for the Stuarts, with brothers Michael and Andrew, and their parents Jim and Roxanne also participating.
"We must be mad, or something," Roxanne said.
The family will be back in training for their next outing, in September on the Gold Coast.
