Then the Sub-branch will again host ANZAC Day commemorations on Thursday, April 25. This year's guest speaker is Major Andrew Titcume (son of local identity Bryce Titcume) who will also be the Reviewing Officer for the march.
Dawn Services in front of Tenterfield Memorial Hall start at 5.30am. Mayor Peter Petty will provide the address before he, RSL members, school representatives and community members lay wreaths in remembrance while the Duty Piper plays the Lament.
This will be followed by a short service at the Tenterfield Cemetery in front of the Australian War Graves area.
The Gun Fire Breakfast follows from 6.30-8am in the RSL Pavilion at the rear of the Memorial Hall for the cost of $2.
The ANZAC Day March down Rouse Street starts at 10.30 am. Participants are asked to form up at 10am under the control of the Parade Marshall in Manners Street in front of the Telegraph Hotel.
All veterans, serving personnel and visitors to Tenterfield who wish to march in remembrance of their family and friends are welcome to participate. Family members wishing to march and wear family medals on the day are reminded that the medals are to worn over the right breast pocket.
The march moves north through the main street led by the RSL Sub-branch Patron, followed by veterans in vehicles, RSL Sub-branch including National Service and visiting veterans, Tenterfield Highland Pipe Band, Police, Schools, Salvation Army and the JF Thomas Light Horse Troop.
The march concludes at Memorial Hall with a Community Commemoration Service on the forecourt. (Note there will not be a service inside the hall this year.)
Wrap up ANZAC Day commemorations with Two Up at the Tenterfield Tavern from 2.30pm in the afternoon.
Note that Molesworth Street will be closed to traffic from 5am through to 11.50am to accommodate the Dawn Service and the conclusion of the march.
The Telegraph Hotel block of Manners Street will be closed to traffic prior to the march from 10-10:30 am, and of course Rouse Street for the duration of the march.
