The Oracles committee's youngest members -- Archie and Rissie George -- were inspired to do something to help local firies after their travels were interrupted by February's bushfires.

They were travelling back to Tenterfield down the New England Highway when the Tarban fire jumped the road and traffic was halted while firefighters brought the situation under control.
Given time to survey the activity around them, the twosome decided on a physical way to express their thanks to volunteers, choosing the Homestead Rural Fire Service as it was the lead crew at their incident.
All the empties they collected at the festival were put through the TOMRA Reverse Vending Machine and the $300 proceeds were recently presented to fire captain Robert Hines.
