The day will kick off with a learn-to-skateboard workshop from 10am to 11.30am for the 6 to 12-year-olds, with professional skateboarder John Bejarano and an assistant coach.
READ ALSO:
John is originally from Colombia and has been skating for 18 years. He has competed internationally in South America, Europe, the USA and here in Australia.
John will be teaching everything from the complete basics to more advanced tricks for those who already skateboard. Essential Skateboarding has a few skateboards available to borrow for those who don't have one, but it is recommended to bring your own.
Also, all participants must bring and wear a helmet, and have a parent or guardian sign a waiver form.
To register for the workshop and organise the waiver, call 0439 954 562. There are only a few spots left, however.
After the workshop John will do a demonstration of his skills showcasing the Tenterfield park, ahead of games with prizes. This part of the program is opened to those aged up to 18 years, so come along from 11.30am until noon.
The morning caters for all skill levels from beginners to more experienced skaters.
Essential Skateboarding is based on the Central Coast but the crew is conducting a winter school holiday tour to bring high-level skateboarding skills to regional areas, and to encourage more youth to get active through skateboarding.
