It's burning in a northerly direction along Long Gully Road and Plains Station Road, towards the Bruxner Highway and the villages of Drake and Tabulum. It is expected to reach the area of Drake over the coming hours.
Firefighters are working with property owners along both these roads to protect properties.
Strong winds are expected to continue over the coming days. Fallen trees and fire may impact local roads.
Crews remain on scene to bring the fire under control.
SUNDAY MORNING
The fire is now burning in remote terrain south of Drake and Tabulum, in the Girard State Forest.
It has burnt more than 22,289 hectares and is out of control.
The fire has crossed Plains Station Road and is burning on the western side of the Clarence River where firefighters are working to hold it.
Strong winds are expected to continue through the day before easing overnight. But that respite may be brief as strong winds are expected to return on Monday.
Fallen trees and fire may impact local roads.
Meanwhile the fire in the Mount Mackenzie Road area, on the southern outskirts of Tenterfield, continues to burn.
The fire has moved to the north-east towards Billirimba Road and the Bruxner Highway.
The Bruxner Highway is open now but may be affected by smoke.
SATURDAY EVENING
An out-of-control bush fire is burning in the Long Gully Rd, Drake area.
It has burnt more than 13,000 hectares and is burning in remote terrain south of Drake and Tabulum, in the Girard State Forest.
The fire has crossed Plain Station Road, and is burning on the western side of the Clarence River.
Crews are holding the fire to the Plains Station Road and Long Gully Road areas and are working to protect homes.
Strong winds are expected to continue through the night.
Meanwhile, Tenterfield's Mount Mckenzie Rd fire is listed as watch and act status.
The fire has burnt more than 3,517 hectares and is currently out of control.

The fire has moved to the north east towards Billirimba Road and the Bruxner Highway. Crews remain on scene.

Evacuation Centre
An evacuation centre has been established at Tenterfield Showgrounds, 62 Miles St, Tenterfield.
It will be open until 11pm.

RFS Advice
If you are in the area of Ewingar, Tilbaroo and areas on the western side of the Clarence River, seek shelter if the fire impacts on your location. Take shelter in a solid structure when the fire front arrives. Protect yourself from the heat of the fire.
If you are on the eastern side of the Clarence River, monitor the conditions. Ensure you know what you will do if the fire impacts on your property.
If you live in the area but are away from your home, it may not be safe to return to your property.
