The rally is for motor vehicles that cost less than $1000, and the due are brother-in-laws who aim to raise $5000 by October 18 to be eligible to compete in the rally.
So far, Out Two Pasture has raised just over $4276 through wood raffles, donations and selling sheep manure.
Nathan revealed their original car was going to be an Hyundai XL.
"Unfortunately, that car fell apart before it was registered," he said.
"We got this one through my cousin. We paid $500 for 1997 Suzuki Swift carboratored, which means the fuel is vacuum pulled through the engine via a carbonator not a computer."
Nathan is the mechanic and, along with his family, has pulled the Swift's engine down to clean and repair its parts, and all the modifications were done in the backyard.

Generally, they share tasks, and they will share the driving with Nathan taking on the cities and Cameron sticking to the open road.
The vehicle will have to be driven successfully from Melbourne to Townsville via Birdsville, a total a 3000 kilometres along sealed and unsealed roads.
The two would also like to hear from anyone who might be interested in sponsoring them.
The rally has raised over $20 million for the Cancer Council.
