The Thunder started the game with some good scoring opportunities but were denied by keeper Katrina Marino coming way off her line. At the other end, Ballandean were unlucky with a couple of chances shaving the posts.
The half-time score remained nil-all.
With continued pressure, Tenterfield's Annie-May Newman managed to find the net after a scramble in front of goals.
With only twelve minutes of normal time remaining, Sarah Day was able to make a key run through the middle and find an equaliser.
At full-time the scores were locked at 1-1.
With injuries taking their toll on both sides it was Ballandean who found that little bit extra in the last twenty minutes especially with a fresh player coming off the bench. With a short lapse of concentration after an injury break, it was Sarah Day who made a crucial run in midfield and was able to shoot from long range to find the top corner.
Ballandean were able to make it through the season unbeaten and lift the 2019 trophy. Congratulations to all players for an entertaining grand final.
