More than $7000 was raised for Tenterfield bushfire victims at the town's Super Saturday fundraiser on October 12, and those funds are now safely in the hands of the Tenterfield Community Church which has been charged with distributing the proceeds.

Businesses participating in Super Saturday each chipped in a donation to the cause with the remainder raised through activities in Bruxner Park on the day and further donations from 'family and friends', organiser Barry O'Connor said.
"It reminds you there are good people in the world."

He said the church's Pam Sammut will be helping those who suffered in the fires on a case-by-case basis, but the money is for anyone in the Tenterfield Shire affected.
Mr O'Connor and wife Di had several people at their caravan park who had been dislodged from their homes in Drake due to fire, and witnessed first-hand the raw state these people were in.
