Nominations for the 2019 Tenterfield Business & Tourism Excellence Awards are now open, with awardees to be announced at the Bugger the Drought Gala Dinner on Thursday, November 28 at the Sir Henry Parkes Memorial School of Arts. Tickets for the dinner will go on sale soon.
The awards, now biennial, are organised by council to celebrate and recognise the businesses, events and individuals that make a significant contribution to the Tenterfield community. This year, there are 12 award categories and the nomination process has been made easier.

"It's been a tough year for everyone, so it's even more important that we get together and celebrate all of your achievements," council said in a statement.
The categories are:
- Business of the Year
- Event of the Year
- Apprentice/Trainee of the Year
- Employee of the Year
- Excellence in Micro Business (0-4 employees)
- Excellence in Small Business (5-20 employees)
- Excellence in Business (20+ employees)
- Excellence in Tourism
- Excellence in Agriculture/Agribusiness
- Excellence in Innovation
- Excellence in Sustainability
- Disability, Inclusion & Access Award
Nominations close midnight Sunday, November 17. Go to tenterfieldbusinessawards.com to nominate and for further information. Nomination forms can also be collected from the Council Chambers or Tenterfield Visitor Information Centre.
Your own business or event can be nominated, or you can nominate an apprentice/trainee/employee. More than one category can be entered as long as all criteria is addressed.
