Make It Tenterfield is coordinating the undertaking and the group's Ruth Rutherford is calling the event The Peter Chittick Fashion Parade.
The decorated gumboots will be a central component of parade attire. Ms Rutherford said the idea was inspired by the creative girls at Make It, several of whom have already set the pace with their gumboot efforts.
Kylie Heindrich has created a very bright, colourful pair, while Aria Pettinato is half-way through blinging up a set of boots.

Ms Rutherford said the Make It team feels the theme of the parade reflects the personality of show stalwart Mr Chittick, whose modeling efforts will undoubtedly be a feature of the parades. Ms Rutherford promised a very special outfit to complete his ensemble. In fact all the models in the parade will be sporting unique outfits.
"All items will be made by Make It," Ms Rutherford said. "They'll be original one-offs, wearable art, made especially for the occasion.
Times have yet to be scheduled but there will be parades on the Friday and Saturday of the show (February 7 and 8), in the Shearing Complex.
Tenterfield Laundrette is sponsoring prizemoney for the best-decorated gumboots, in the order of $50 for first prize, $30 for second and $20 for third. The boots will be a special section in the show's Handcrafts department, of which Ms Rutherford is steward.
Entrants are welcome to come along to Make It Tenterfield (upstairs at Mitre 10 in Rouse Street) to decorate their gumboots in a convivial atmosphere. Ms Rutherford said there are a couple of spare pairs available, but donations of more would be much appreciated. Blundstones is helping, shipping up a carton of gumboots from Tasmania for the cause.
Participants are also welcome to explore their gumboot artistry at home and submit their entries.
