Teenager Amy Lawton has been elevated to a permanent spot in Australia's 27-strong women's hockey squad.

Hockeyroos coach Paul Gaudoin says Lawton's rise justified the enormous talent of the 17-year-old Victorian.
"Amy is a quality player and has come into our group seamlessly and has performed extremely well when she's played for Australia," Gaudoin said on Friday in a statement.
Lawton, who has won 10 caps for the Hockeyroos and scored three goals, is joined in the squad by 20-year-old Karri Somerville, who has earnt her her first senior call-up after a breakout Hockey One season with Perth Thundersticks.
"She is a tall, mobile defender who is pretty quick off the mark. And having someone with a bit of speed in our defensive group is going to be handy," Gaudoin said.
Other new additions to the permanent list include capped Hockeyroos Laura Barden, Kate Jenner and Gabi Nance.
The Hockeyroos' next fixture is against Belgium on January 25 in Sydney, their opening match of the FIH Pro League in a year to be highlighted by the Tokyo Olympics starting in late July.
