They replace Joel and Yolande Soper, who have been transferred to Raymond Terrace after serving the community for nine years.
"The town's great! We really love it," Mr Briggs said. "We're looking forward to serving it for many more years to come."
Mr Briggs and his wife arrived a week ago. They will manage the Salvation Army family store and op shop, run children's programs, and work with youth.

"Feel free to come by and say g'day," Mr Briggs said. "We're going to try to get around and meet everyone. If we can help in any way, we're here ready."
The service was held to thank citizens, local businesses and churches who worked in the background cooking, distributing, or donating food during the bushfires. About 180 people attended.
Tenterfield, Mr Soper said, was a generous town with a good community spirit. He thanked the locals for all their support, and encouraged them to introduce themselves to Jared and Samantha.
