This year's event, on Easter Saturday, April 11, has special significance however as the community pulls itself together to recover from November's savage bushfires.
Torrington Hall's Jan Styles said around 15 kilometres of fencing was lost just around the village itself. While there' offers of labour to replace it, proceeds from the fun day will go towards buying the necessary fencing equipment and materials to make it happen.
Supporting the effort will be no hardship, with all the popular events back on the roster. The fun starts from 8am at the hall with breakfast, and the day includes a visit from the Easter Bunny and an egg hunt and the infamous yabbie races.
There's a barbecue lunch as well as barista coffee and homemade eats in the hall, and Jason Dunn from Southport is back to entertain, by popular demand.
A new initiative this year sees the availability of t-shirts, calico carry bags and teatowels adorned with Torrington motifs, including yowies, rock faces and other local 'landmarks', thanks to Torrington artists. These items provide a great opportunity for purchasers to be loud-and-proud in their support of this small but resilient community.
There will also be a number of market stalls operating on the day, and anyone else who would like to join in can call Lee on 02 6734 6213 or Joyce on 02 6734 6204 for more information or bookings.
The hall community has assembled some great raffle prizes and will be selling tickets in the lead-up to the fun day. First prize in an Acer 2-in-1 laptop, second is dinner and overnight stay at stunning Stannum House, and third is a $100 hardware voucher.
Watch for tickets to be on sale in Tenterfield in front of the Benevolent Society and in Glen Innes and, of course, on the day itself when the winners will be announced at 2pm.
"Please support our village for fire recovery," Ms Styles said.
