In a statement sent to media outlets on Wednesday, Tenterfield Shire Council announced the closures had happened, in line with the COVID-19 regulations put in place by the government.
"We appreciate the inconvenience, particularly for parents with bored little ones, however this regulation is for the health of the community to control the spread of COVID-19," Mayor Peter Petty said.

Under no circumstances are persons allowed to enter, or attempt to play on, or use, any equipment.
NSW Police will patrol areas and fines apply for breach of the regulation.
Council has also placed signage and barrier tape around all equipment for the safety of the public.
