After more than 12 months in Tasmania (longer than expected due to COVID), she flies home to NSW the day her book Crow Speak is released on December 1.
Gail said Crow Speak is a small book that speaks to bigger issues. It started from a fascination with crows and the Corvidae species generally, and her observations of language in nature.
The result is a surprising range of verse, both in style and content, touching on themes of social justice, ecology, politics and autobiography.

The collection of 'wild' poems is illustrated by another local identity, Tenterfield artist Judith Harris.
Gail said the collection is influenced by the local landscape, with the poetry weaving from the Northern Tablelands to Tasmania.
"Coupled with Judy's free-style charcoal and pastel drawings, the book is a distinctive product."
She hopes it will make a unique gift for Christmas.
Due to COVID restrictions, Gail is also being creative about events to promote the book, with virtual gigs in the pipeline.
She'll fit in a pre-launch open air gig from a tree house in southern Tasmania before leaving. Other events make be coming to a tree near you.
