The Tenterfield Shire has contributed the historic Sir Henry Parkes School of Arts Cinema/Theatre for the project, while funding from St Vinnes has extended the ability of the existing live performance equipment to include multi-track recording. The ghost of Sir Henry will be the only official audience member in the empty theatre, but the project has some important community aims. These include providing performers with an opportunity to rebuild their skills, and bringing back live music to our community to help heal social isolation.
Another important aim is the rebuilding of the performance segment of the vital tourism industry after its decimation in the drought and fires.

The Live at Sir Henry's project is under preparation and hopes to be ready to commence recording by mid-December. The free live performance recording sessions and tutorials will be fitted in around the cinema screening schedule for the next few months.
The free tutorials are also available to the community. These will be conducted with COVID-compliant seating requirements in the cinema, with participants able to watch live editing as it happens on the big screen.
Media topics include photo editing, filming techniques, editing video for online /TV /cinema, audio recording skills, multi track studio recording and mixing plus live performance technology.
Local musician and film maker Peter Harris will be directing the project and is seeking interested entertainers. Musicians, actors and poets of all ages are all invited to contribute a live performance (or two or three).
Peter is also seeking camera operators. There will be a couple of video cameras available for recording closeups and cutaways of performers while a stationary camera will record the overall performance.
If any of these opportunities are of interest call in at the cinema front desk to add your name and contact number to an 'expression of interest' sheet. An information sheet is also available.
Sessions are set to start in a couple of weeks. So dust off the guitar, shine up your dancing shoes, practice a few vocal scales and get your performances ready for the world to see.
