Barring any late changes, country shows will be allowed to go ahead with up to 5000 people subject to COVID safety measures. These will include social distancing at venues, controlled access to entry points throughout the show to minimise crowding, a limit on the number of attendees depending on venue size and the one person per 4 square metre rule.

Although some other regional NSW show societies have cancelled their 2021 shows, president Matthew Duff said the Tenterfield Show Society had been planning to go ahead with a show with limited events in 2021, despite stringent restrictions on crowd sizes.
"The Tenterfield Show is an important event on the local calendar and we believe it is more important than ever that the community has an opportunity to come together.
"As the Tenterfield Show is the first on the northern NSW show calendar, we will be working hard in the coming weeks to plan a great event, while taking every step to ensure the public, exhibitors and volunteers are safe.
"While we may not be able to present all the activities show goers are used to, we will be doing our best to make sure that the show continues to highlight the agricultural produce and talents of the Tenterfield community and provides fun and entertainment for show visitors."
Mr Duff said the Tenterfield Show has only been cancelled once in its long history (during the 1919 influenza epidemic) and the Show Society was pleased to be able to continue its long history of unbroken events.
"The Show Society and Showground Trust have taken advantage of the COVID-19 lockdown to completely renovate the grandstand kitchen, upgrade the electrical infrastructure of the grounds, re-seed the main ring and plant new trees and we are looking forward to showing off these improvements in 2021."
Mr Duff said running the 2021 Tenterfield Show subject to COVID restrictions would require a great effort by all volunteers as well as co-operation from members of the public.
"The Show Society will need all hands on deck to stage the 2021 Show and we welcome new members and volunteers who would like to help," he said.
