Keen gardeners have emerged from years of drought to take inspiration from Glenrock Gardens, opened to the public on Sunday to offer visitors some ideas on what they could attempt to reproduce in their own backyards.
With projections of the rain continuing under a La Nina effect and Tenterfield Shire Council water restrictions back to Level 1, there's incentive for green thumbs to get dirty again.
Local gardens took a battering during the drought, with some even ravaged by bushfire. It's great to see lots of green around the place now, although lawnmowers provide a constant background hum in town as homeowners compete with rapidly-growing grass.
