Following a massive recruitment drive to find the best arts communicators in the region, Arts North West have announced the 12 successful inaugural creative champions who will spearhead its outreach program - including local resident Danielle Wholohan.

These champions will seek out artists in all disciplines, artsworkers, and creative venues within the local government areas where they live, executive director Caroline Downer explained.
"Once in place, they will assist creatives to deliver their information to the Arts North West Connect regional registry of creative people, industries and venues in the New England North West," she said.

"These positions will be vital in establishing links between the creative population of our region and council visitor information centres, giving our local artists and arts-related industries acknowledgement, recognition and employment opportunities, growing sustainability for the Arts within our communities."
Ms Downer thanked the large number of applicants who put themselves forward for the positions.
"The Arts North West creative champions will allow us to build stronger and wider networks throughout the New England North West region," she said.
"This is something we are constantly working on, but with such a large geographical area and 12 contributing councils, it is not always easy to do with a small staff.
"The Arts North West Connect website will be the most current and comprehensive database of all things creative in the New England North West."
Ms Wholohan will make the essential connections that drive a healthy and visible creative arts industry for the Tenterfield region.
"I have always been interested in the arts," she said.
"There are some amazing and talented people in the Tenterfield Shire who are very skilled and passionate about the arts. I am very excited to be a part of this initiative to help artists, arts workers, and organisations connect with Arts North West."
Ms Wholohan has a Bachelor of Fine Art and is currently studying a Bachelor of Psychological Science, interested in the field of 'arts as therapy'. She also enjoys running and participating in workshops.
