The New England and District Golf Association women's championships, originally set down for March, got underway last week and has been hailed a major success.
So much so, the Glen Innes organising committee are already planning to host another ladies' tournament in the future.
NEDGA secretary Di Brown was thrilled with the "phenomenal" event.
"It went off brilliantly," she said.
"Everybody was happy. We had 88 entrants which was fantastic, even with the date change.
"We lost some but we picked up new players.
"The course was spectacular so that was great and we were happy with the weather, we couldn't complain."
Competitors came from all over the New England region, as well as from coastal areas and Queensland.
Brown believes Glen Innes would be perfect to hold another competition in the future.
"We are definitely going to do another tournament in Glen Innes.
It is in my head we definitely need to do another tournament in Glen Innes somewhere.
"It will be easier and I think having the contacts of the ladies that came, they are all keen to come back to Glen Innes so the opportunity is there so we need look forwaard and plan our next event, bring more people back to the town."
