Special Counsel, Brendan Pendergast said that investigations are underway into a potential class action on behalf of those that were impacted by the fire. '
"This devastating fire event burnt in excess of 3000 hectares of land and destroyed and damaged multiple homes and outbuildings.
"The physical and psychological effects of the fire are also still being felt by the Tenterfield community."

The NSW Rural Fire Service determined that the fire ignited as a result of clashing high voltage powerlines owned and operated by Essential Energy.
The community meeting will include important information for property owners about the class action process and compensation opportunities available to those impacted by the fire.
Anyone that suffered loss or damage, regardless of the scale, is strongly encouraged to attend.
Mr Pendergast said this is an opportunity for the community to come together and that if the fire could have been prevented, then those that have been impacted should be compensated for the full extent of their losses. '
"It's likely that many people have suffered very considerable uninsured losses and they shouldn't be left out of pocket."
