The Broncos prop was sweating on the charge sheet but has avoided suspension after being placed on report twice in the loss - once for a high shot on Cameron Murray and later for a crusher tackle on Souths forward Mark Nicholls.
But the news is far from positive for teammate Tevita Pangai Junior.
Less than a day after it was revealed he was free to leave Brisbane, the backrower is facing a four-week ban for a crusher tackle.
The NRL judiciary has charged Pangai Jnr with a grade-one crusher tackle following an incident in the 26th minute of Thursday's loss at Suncorp Stadium.
The Tongan international caught Rabbitohs backrower Cameron Murray in a tackle on the same night the Broncos told the 25-year-old he was free to speak to rival clubs.
Due to his record over the past two years, including one similar and three non-similar offences, Pangai Jnr is facing a three-week ban with an early plea or four weeks if he contests the charge and loses.
In a brief statement the Broncos said they were considering their position on the charge which could be determined by the player's future, with Wests Tigers understood to be firmly in the mix to sign the forward.
