That's the message authorities want Tenterfield residents to hear after both New England cities went into lockdown over the past week.
While there are no confirmed cases in the Tenterfield area, anyone who has been to either Armidale since July 29 or Tamworth since August 5 must also stay at home for the lockdown periods.
Local testing is being conducted at Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology in High Street, from 7am to midday, Monday to Friday.
Tenterfield Shire Council is also taking precautions.
The Visitor Information Centre will temporarily close (at this stage in line with the Armidale lockdown).
Delivery drivers will not be permitted to enter council offices or the store.
Mayor Peter Petty thanked the community for their understanding and urged people to get vaccinated.
"(I encourage) everyone to get the jab, knowing that the COVID-19 vaccine will give you, your family and your co-workers an added layer of protection against COVID-19," Cr Petty said.
"Would you please continue to socially distance, QR Code, wear face masks, wash hands, sanitise and get tested if feeling unwell."
Armidale went into snap lockdown at 5pm on Saturday, following the announcement that a young person had brought the virus to the town and had transmitted it to at least two family members.
Domino's Pizza in East Armidale, Armidale Secondary College and the train service to Armidale on July 29 were identified as exposure sites by the NSW Health contract tracing teams, but have since been given the all clear following contact tracing.
Tamworth was exposed to COVID-19 when a young woman from Newcastle travelled to the city last week while infectious and visited five venues in the city.
The COVID-19 positive woman did not know she was infectious at the time.
In Tamworth, five COVID-19 exposure sites were identified by NSW Health.
Anyone who attended the following venues on the specific dates and times identified by public health officials are considered close contacts and must get tested and isolate for two weeks and await further advice from NSW Health:
- The Inland Cafe in Tamworth on Thursday, August 5 from 9:15am to 10am
- Tudor Hotel in Tamworth on Thursday, August 5 from 11:00am to 11:40am
Armidale will remain in lockdown until next Sunday morning at 12.01am.
Tamworth will remain in precautionary lockdown until Tuesday, August 17 at 12:01am.
