The announcement came following the easing of lockdown restrictions.
With people allowed to get together again, organisers felt they should have the weekend ASAP, and it will go ahead on September 25-26 at the Tenterfield TAFE campus.
In 2020 the ladies completed 50 quilts in the weeks leading up to thequiltathon and over the weekend.
The quilts were delivered to the residents of Rappville and the Rappville Hotel.
Quiltathon coordinator Fran Bulmer said the day she dropped them off there were smiles and tears as people collected their magnificent quilts.
The quiltathon is in its 12th year this year and to date 588 quilts have been delivered to communities struck down by natural disasters.
Quilters usually decide where the quilts will be sent each year at the quiltathon.
Anyone wishing to join the quilting group is welcome, with regular quilt sewing happening at the Tenterfield Community College from 6pm on Monday nights and from 9am on Tuesdays during the school term.
