Tenterfield's Michael Cutmore was a winner as the Inverell Golf Club held its Campbell and Freebairn Mixed Open four-ball and Campbell and Freebairn Men's Open at the weekend under ideal conditions.

The events were well supported with players from Tenterfield, Glen Innes, Armidale, Uralla and Bundarra joining local competitors.
The Open Mixed 4-ball stableford was played on Saturday and was won by the team of Teena and Ben Myler with an impressive 51 points.
Next was another mother and son team of Mary and Peter Schofield with 47 points. Lindsay Gunther and Tom Murphy combined to finish third with 46 points.
The scratch competition was won by Helen Tickle and John Coote 31 points.
The Men's Open was played on Sunday and was won by Michael Cutmore from Tenterfield.
Michael finished with 64 nett and won in a countback with local, John Foulcher. Buster Crowhurst, from Glen Innes, took out A grade with a score of 67.
Steve Kent won B Grade with 66, Chris Drake, C Grade with 65 and Ross Tutt D Grade with 67.
Tim Murray, from Armidale, was the gross winner after finishing with 68 off the stick. Phil Fox was next best with a gross score of 72, and John Foulcher and John Coote followed with 74's.
