Artworks at Stanthorpe Station have had a long association with arts and community outreach on the Granite Belt.
Its beginning was as an offshoot of Artworks on Davadi, the brainchild of Granite Belt Stanthorpe Station (GBSS) which operated out of the warehouse where ALDI was built.

Now it is an eclectic mix of many activities, from poetry and painting to gardening.
New activities are starting all the time to suit those who get involved, and in response to community needs.
Artworks cooperates with other arts initiatives in the community, particularly the Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery and the recent Granite Belt Arts Trail.
There are art groups meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 11.30am and newcomers are always welcome.
The Station Café operates every weekend and volunteers greet the monthly Downs Steam train with refreshments on the platform, inviting visitors to view some of the members' artwork on display at the station.
In 2022 Drawing Basics workshops will commence with local artist Karen McCann. The popular friends social will move to Mondays.
Artworks welcomes the community to use their spaces which are adaptable for groups and meetings of many kinds.
It is a not-for-profit organisation, so hire is very reasonable.
Inquiries can be made about hire of a space to Barbara on 0438 845 624.
