The group marked the seasons end with a dinner and presentation evening to celebrate a host of achievements.
“All of our athletes gained well-deserved recognition this year, each being presented on the evening with the Border Blues Achievement Medal and Achievement Certificate,” Susan Bright said.
Also presented during the evening were the two coveted Annual Border Blues’ Awards.
The Border Blue’s PB (Personal Best) Award is awarded to the athlete that has recorded the highest number of Personal Best performances, across every event and every week throughout the season.
This year’s recipient was Ky Rudge, from the under 11 age group.
“Competition for the award is always fierce, but Ky’s consistent, exceptional efforts and never-say-die perseverance gained for him the most Personal Best performances for the whole season,” Ms Bright said.
The award for the Border Blues Highest Achiever went to Lachlan Dorward.
“The award is presented to the Border Blues athlete who has gained the highest level of performance with regard to all other athletes in their age group, across, not only the region, but also compared all across the states of NSW and Queensland and even nationally.
“Seven very talented Border Blues athletes successfully contested the Little Athletics State Championships this year, however, Lachlan Dorwards’ performances across all of his entered events saw him presented with what is considered to be the peak of Border Blues Athletics Awards,” Ms Bright said.
Next year’s athletics competition season commences again later this year, with sign on days in September.
“Congratulations to Lachlan, Ky and to all of our athletes – you are all very special people and are wished all the best in your endeavours for the rest of the year,” Ms Bright said.
