Thumbs up for composting intiative
We just wanted to say it’s good to see the composting initiative being offered to Tenterfield Shire council (TSC) ratepayers who didn’t get a bin or worm farm on the last occasion.

Hopefully this cost effective, practical initiative not only reduces the domestic waste going to the Boonoo Boonoo landfill, whether via the waste transfer stations or domestic waste kerbside bin collections, but it introduces a few more property owners in TSC area to the TSC area land-care group and their many interesting activities during the year.
We got our compost on the last round and found the compost was available much more quickly than we expected.
No sign of vermin and it significantly reduces the food waste going in to our household rubbish bin and ultimately land fill.
I would estimate we reduce household waste going to landfill by approximately one supermarket plastic bag per week (after considering the paper wrapping of compostable items).
Is it possible for Council to provide the ‘best bins’ fridge magnet to all TSC properties with a kerbside bin, so these people are sufficiently informed to use their domestic bin correctly and avoid unnecessary or incorrect waste going to our Shire landfill?
It would also be useful if the transfer station bins could have stickers summarising their intended content.
All this will help inform a few more community members in the waste process.
Thanks for the initiative.

How hard can it be?
TODAY’S technology is producing driverless cars and landing robots on Mars.
With all this know-how, I’m amazed why the authorities find it so hard to locate drug syndicate financiers and boat smugglers sending “refugees” overseas and making a fortune from them.
They’re artful dodgers of tax as well.
Why aren’t we reading about offenders being caught? It can’t possibly be that hard to catch them.
Some would suggest that they are being protected by the relative governments.
Is this then another example of corruption in high places?
Will it take someone like Donald Trump to sort out the mess?
Don’t worry, when the right person appears the present crop will be swept clean out of office.

Please help again Greg
Greg Norman – we need you again! You managed to get our Prime Minister in touch with the US President-Elect for a social chat.
Could you call them both again, since they're your mates, and tell them the bad news?
The latest Climate Change Performance Index says that Australia, Japan and Korea are currently the worst performers of all industrialised countries.
The US is 34th (out of 58), which will hopefully give Mr Trump, who believes climate change is a hoax, some food for thought.
Mr Turnbull said during the election campaign this year that he was "committed to climate change".
Here's his chance to prove it.
It's time you sat these two down and gave them the good news: climate change can be tackled.
Over 50 per cent of greenhouse emissions come from animal agriculture: take your mates down to your local vegan restaurant for a chat, and show them how easy and delicious vegan food really is.
You could fix far more than the PM's contacts list.
