Up-and-coming Tenterfield rugby league star Isaac Jones faced some of the toughest school-aged rugby league players in the country at the recent CHS trials.
Isaac lined up in the front row for the under 15 Greater Western team at the tournament late last month and, while his team didn’t manage to land a win, the young forward stepped up when needed.
“He went really well,” a spectator said.
“They got beaten in their three games but he got heaps of game time. The Greater Western side had quite a few injuries in the second game so he basically played two-and-a-half games.”
Some of the players Isaac faced are already in National Rugby League development teams.
“He played really well. He certainly wasn't overawed by the occasion. The standard of football was unreal. It was a good experience,” the spectator said.
Isaac also turned out for Parramatta against the Combined Independent School team three weeks ago.
