After three consecutive losses before rebounding against Tingha last week, the Magpies managed to topple Narwan 36-4 and reaffirm their second place on the table.
Sunday’s game nearly didn’t take place with a handful of Narwan players still serving suspension and the Eels squad not having the depth available to cover them.
A decision was made to allow the game to be played with Glen Innes earning the points win or loss.
“It was sort of a mix up because four of their girls that got suspended weren't actually supposed to play today so it was going to be a forfeit and I think it was a forfeit but we got the points and the for and against,” Magpies coach David Willis said.

“We didn't come down all this way to not have a game but the girls were happy with that.
“We did need the game time and needed to work on it coming into the finals.”
In previous outings, Willis had highlighted the need for his side’s attack to improve should they take aim at claiming the title for the second year on-the-trot.
On Sunday their attack flowed and Willis was pleased their hard work paid off.
“They played with a lot of structure,” he said.
“We have been working on our attack in the last couple of weeks.
“We always do our defensive drills but our attack has been letting us down in the last couple of weeks so we have really been working on it.
“The girls enjoyed it, they are putting a few plays together which is good.”
Willis lauded the team’s ability to gel and stick together with only two substitutes on the bench.
“I think they played pretty well as a team, we just have to work on our structure a bit more in the next couple of weeks,” he said.
“We only had two reserves, riddled with the flew, asthma, it is going through every club.”
Abby Miller finished with players’ player.
Ebony Gallagher, Amelia Tunamena and Breanna Grange cleaned up in the club points.
The referee deemed Amelia and Alisa Tunamena as their side’s best.
A win in this Sunday’s match-up against the ‘Rangs will guarantee the Magpies second spot on the ladder.
All three matches, starting with league tag, followed by under 18s then A grade, are clashes of top four teams.
Magpies Old Boys and sponsors are invited to come along with free entry on the day.
