John McMahon’s Academy of Martial Arts have finished another “sensational” year with an array of trophies and medals from state and national championship events.
They finished off 2018 last weekend with their annual end of year grading but it was the accolades collected which has McMahon bursting with pride.
“Absolutely sensational. I am very, very proud of my students,” he said.

“We have won Australian Championships, we have won Queensland Championships, some of them have already been Australian champions but have doubled up on their championships.
“It is pretty incredible.”
McMahon teaches a variety of martial arts to people from all over the region.
His students’ successes in recent years not only includes domestic titles but international titles as well.
“I have taken my kids around the world to compete, we were in Vegas last year and scooped the pool basically,” McMahon said.
Earlier this month, McMahon’s students competed at a National All Stars Championship event where more than 600 competitors from across the country came together on the Gold Coast to compete.
They brought home a multitude of gold and bronze medals as well as trophies.
