Mayor Peter Petty did the honours, reminding Mr Macpherson of his new responsibilities and allegiance, and guiding him in taking the oath.
Mr Macpherson works in event management and bought a 250-acre property in Drake back in 2013. His mother is Scottish and his dad Mexican, and he was born in Worcestershire, England.
A global traveller ever since, he’s now found ‘the best part of Australia’.
“I go to the coast and Byron Bay and can’t wait to get home,” he said.
His citizenship took a while to process but he can now relax and enjoy it. He applied 2.5 years ago, and approval finally came through.
