Former Australian cricketer Greg Ritchie will be joined by rugby league greats Gary Belcher and Brent Kite for a sportsman's dinner hosted by the Glen Innes Magpies Old Boys on December 12.
The trio will speak at the Services Club function as part of the Old Boys' annual fundraising efforts.
The sportsman's dinner will also celebrate 50 years since the Glen Innes under 19s won the 1970 premiership as well as the first grade team finishing as runners-up.
Even though there's still COVID-19 restrictions in place, Old Boys' president Gav Peterson is expecting a solid turnout for the event.
"The under 19s won the grand final and they are celebrating their 50th anniversary," he said.
"First grade played the grand final but unfortunately lost, we have some of those former players coming as well.
"We are having a dinner at the Services Club to celebrate that 50 year anniversary and get together and have a social night.
"At the sportsman's dinner we have a couple of memorabilia items that we are going to auction.
"We are also presenting replica 50 year anniversary jersey for the under 19 premiership players.
"There hasn't been much happening around the place so we are hoping people are keen to get out."
After the sportsman's dinner wraps up, the Old Boys will turn their attention to Sunday's charity golf day.
"Greg ritchie is going to hang around for the golf day as well," Peterson said.
"The sportsman's dinner and the golf day combined, any proceeds are going to defibs [defibrillators] to provide to any sporting clubs or any sporting fields around the town."
Tickets for the sportsman's dinner are $65 per person which includes a two course meal.
They are on sale at the Services Club. Tables are limited to eight people.
The Sunday golf day will see a 9am start with teams of three at $25 per person.
