The annual pre-season day raises funds for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and, although there isn't a final figure of how much was raised, the club was very happy.
In terms of on-the-field, the crowd on hand saw some stellar rugby union played and had the chance to cheer the hosts home for a win against a combined Walcha-Glen Innes team.
The Bees beat the combined side 17-7 which, despite a few handling errors, left coach Phil Jones feeling positive about the season.
"The boys played well for a first outing," he said.
"We haven't had too many training runs but they played really well.
"The standard of footy was good considering.
"We still need more numbers, if we can get a few more we will have a really competitive side."

While handling left a bit to be desired, Jones highlighted their defence.
"Defence was really good which was one thing I was really pleased with but overall a great start to the season for us," he said.
A handful of players stood up.
"In my team today, Jonny Little really led from the front, he captained the side and had a great game playing at number," he said.
"George Jones playing breakaway had a really good game. Geoff Swan again, a standout. Just such a good leader, a good organiser and just a great all-round bloke. Jayson Murphy had a great game.
"Right across the paddock, it is hard to name too many individuals but they all played well."
The following two games saw Lennox Head win both, 40-7 in first grade against the Walcha Rams and 29-17 in second grade against Glen Innes.
The Far North Coast President's Cup season starts on April 10.
