One giraffe calf has made an astonishing discovery about herself, and it was a little spooky at the start.
Lifting her long legs and scaring herself when she sees the dark figure in front of her reply perfectly, the giraffe calf from South Australia's Monarto Safari Park is getting to know her shadow and finding it slightly unpredictable.
Senior Keeper of Ungulates at Monarto Safari Park, west of the Murray River in SA, Mark Mills filmed the event.
Mills is one of the keepers currently bottle-feeding the calf after her mother wasn't observed to be feeding her.
Keepers report that the calf and her shadow are both doing well.
