According to organisers the group have been running the event for over two decades but this year could prove to be its biggest and most emotional.
The late Grahame Braid was paramount in seeing the annual night run and was involved for roughly 20-years.
The night has been rebranded as Braidies Trivia Night in honour of the former quizmaster.
“It was something he always looked forward to,” friend and organiser Peter Chittick said.
“I asked him to help out even when he wasn’t in Rotary in those days.
“He really used to love doing it. He’d make sure the questions weren’t too hard or too easy,” Peter said.
Grahame’s brother-in-law John Tapscott, with the aid of Terry Kneipp, will take over the quizmaster duties this year.
Mr Chittick said he was expecting anywhere between 160-200 people to attend.
Teams with six to eight people can nominate and so far Peter says he’s had 20 teams sign up.
“I’m hoping to get closer to 25 teams.
“Even if you haven’t got the full amount or just want to join in I’m sure someone will take you in.
“We’ve run this every year for over 20 years, it would be one of the longest running events in town – they usually reach a peak and die out.
“I think we’d probably have risen over $50,000 over the years,” he said.
The night will be $6 per person and proceeds go to help Sir Henry Parkes Primary School update their canteen and to the Shelter Box program.
Shelter Box is an international aid program which supports countries impacted by natural disaster.
Tenterfield Rotary have already directed funds to the Vanuatu cyclone clean up this year and Peter said they may look to send some Nepal’s way in the wake of the recent earthquakes.
“It’s what Rotary is all about,” he said.
Peter has encouraged everyone to try dress up as their favourite book character to bring a fun vibe to the evening.
The Tenterfield Golf Club will host the event on Saturday, May 30 with a 7.15pm start.
