Locals will be able to sit down with an experienced Legal Aid NSW lawyer to receive free legal help with a broad range of issues, including fines, family breakdown, housing and Centrelink.
“Maybe you’re having problems with your landlord and you’re worried about keeping a roof over your family’s head, or you’re struggling to stay on top of debts,” Legal Aid NSW lawyer Jaime Winslow said.
“You don’t have to go it alone when you’re facing these sorts of problems. Sometimes people may be tempted to put off dealing with a legal problem in the hope it will go away on its own. But you have nothing to lose by seeking some free, independent legal advice.
“Don’t put off asking for help. We can talk through your situation and help you understand your options. You may find that your problem can be solved easily and without the need to go to court.”
Legal Aid NSW can provide confidential, free legal advice about issues such as:
- High-interest loans

She’s happy to see everyone about everything, and if she’s not the right person she’ll find someone to help.
“I’m here to help people to recognise then they could benefit from legal advice, and get things resolved before they get too big,” she said.
“Everyday legal problems like family breakdown, debt and issues at work can have a big impact, and affect other areas of your life.”
She said while the service aims to ensure people in Tenterfield have access to a face-to-face legal serivce, telephone appointments can be arranged if the matter is urgent.
