No restriction on handheld hosing...yet.
As below-average rainfall persists Tenterfield Dam has dropped to 70 per cent capacity (one metre below the spillway), triggering level one water restrictions.
Level one is the lowest of the water restriction level, designed to provide some community awareness into water saving techniques.
The restrictions also limit the use of domestic garden watering via fixed irrigation systems to two hours a day and residents are being urged to comply. As yet there are no restrictions on handheld hosing.
By raising community awareness council hopes to reduce water consumption and save the precious water supply.
