The Salvation Army has sourced and paid for 60 large round bales of hay to distribute to Tenterfield farmers, along with a free lick block.
This will be the fourth Hay Day organised by Tenterfield Shire Council and the Salvos, with Mayor Peter Petty saying those who have already received a bale in an earlier hay day are welcome to line up again.

It’s happening on Friday, September 28 from 7am, but this time access is through the Pelham Street entrance near the stud cattle area, near where the bales of Rhodes Grass and Blue Grass are being stored. Drivers can then slip across to the Main Pavilion to collect a lick block and to grab some breakfast, again courtesy of the Salvos.
Cr Petty said most of those who left their name after missing out in earlier distributions have received their bale, but to let organisers know if that’s not the case.
“We’re starting all over again,” he said.
