Had members of the Tenterfield Horticultural Society looked through their crystal ball into the future they might have predicted the recent rains would give local gardens a boost. in time for the club’s Spring Flower Show.
Failing that, however, the decision was made to cancel the annual show at Tenterfield Memorial Hall set for this Saturday, October 20.
The club’s Shirley Lewis said gardens are starting to brighten up thanks to the precipitation and there are a few flowers about now, but the decision had to be made at the last meeting on whether to proceed, and at that time the prospects were dry.
The Horticultural Society will now refocus on their next outing, the Tenterfield Show on February 8 and 9. mrs Lewis said nothing would stop them putting on a display there, and if the rain continues it will certainly be a pavilion to include on the show circuit.
