Free community wifi in Rouse Street, with plans to extend

Currently users in range can just select the community wifi on their smart devices and be connected (although be aware it does take a couple of minutes to come up as an option when the Star tried). Council's Paul Della said developers are working on a landing page so that usage statistics can be gathered.

Mr Della said speeds are acceptable, and it's entirely free. 

There are plans underway to extend the range farther through the central business district.
