Rotarians are gearing up to raise more money for the effort, with a street stall in front of Bruxner Park this Friday, September 27. Organiser Peter Chittick is aiming to raise another $2000 for the cause.
The stall will be operating from 8am onward until sold out, with an array of home-baked goods (any contributions in this department will be gratefully accepted). Anyone wishing to donate money to the fundraiser (and receive a receipt) is also most welcome, as is anyone who's just like to come along for a chat about their drought and fire experiences.
Rotary is also raffling off a two-tonne load of firewood. Tickets can be bought at the street stall or catch Mr Chittick at other venues.

He said there's a similarity in the aims of both Rotary and BlazeAid.
"BlazeAid is made up of volunteers, just like us, trying to make a difference," he said. "People donate their time, and their expenses get covered."
Friday's street stall is also an opportunity for those living out of town with empty rainwater tanks to get information on Rotary's ongoing project to deliver potable water to these struggling households.
The project is being funded by other Rotary clubs and individuals, and the proceeds from local Rotary events.
Mr Chittick said around 30 deliveries have already been made, primarily around Mingoola and Torrington, but the club may be able to help anyone within the shire.
