Rebecca Everett spoke on nutrition and mindfulness when eating. Not doing anything else while enjoying your meals. No TV, phone, magazine etc. Concentrate on the flavours and textures of your food.
She was followed by Julie King who spoke about relaxation and mindfulness and then had everyone meditating. She said you can always find a couple of minutes to free your mind and relax.
Julie gave tips of the effect of exercise can have on your mind and recommended a walk every morning to start your day.
After a break for lunch, which drew lots of compliments and had some trying ingredients that were new to them, Judy Watts sent participants on a journey of wellbeing bingo. Participants had to write things that would make us more aware of how to learn, give and be more responsive in different situations in regards to family, friends and in the work environment.
The day concluded by having everyone pair up to give each other hand massages. Some had never been in that situation before, giving or receiving a massage. It was a great way to finish up the day.
All guests received a small gift bag with a couple of affirmations, soap, lotion and a gift certificate given by Julie.
"I was extremely pleased with the way the day went and the positive comments of all who attended," coordinator Lexie Sherren said.
"All the feedback was that it was a great day, well organised and filled with positiveness and information.
"The main reason for this was to boost everyone's spirits in the wake of all the drought, bushfires and water troubles that Tenterfield has been going through over the past months. "
I'm sure all who attended left with a smile and a spring in their step, filled with fabulousness."
Red Cross Bushfire Community Recovery funded the event.
