With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions and the increasing numbers of visitors in town, Tenterfield Shire Council's facilities are re-opening with strict social distancing and other measures in place to ensure the ongoing safety of community members and council staff.

The Tenterfield Library's opening hours remain at 10am to noon and then 2pm to 4pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am to 11.30am on Saturday.
The Visitor Information Centre is now open from 9am to 4.30 pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm on Satruday. The centre will all open the next two Sundays from 10am to 2pm to cater for the NSW school holidays.
Sir Henry Parkes Memorial School of Arts Museum is now open from 10am to 4pm from Monday to Friday and 10am to 3pm on Saturday and Sunday.
The Tenterfield Cinema is scheduled to be back in business on Friday, July 31, although that depends on COVID-19 resurgences in the meantime. Further details for movie programs will become available closer to the date.
Council Depot Registration inspections are still unavailable due to building works at the depot, with the situation to be reassessed at the end of this month.
Council's Customer Service Desk will continue to operate from the Visitor Information Centre, from 9am to 4.30pm from Monday to Friday. Call (02) 6736 6000 with inquires for the Planning Department or any other section of council.
The Administration Building remains closed to the public due to building works.
"With the re-opening of the Queensland border on Friday we can expect a further influx of visitors into our region,", Mayor Peter Petty said.
"Our businesses should recognise this opportunity, particularly on the weekends, to ensure that people remember Tenterfield as a vibrant and busy town with cafes, shops and restaurants open.
"Council's advertising campaigns have brought visitors from all areas of NSW and soon from Queensland too. We need to be welcoming and encouraging a return visit or longer stay."
Mr Petty stressed the importance of observing social distancing requirements to stay safe.
