The Bolivia and Steinbrook Progress Associations will receive grants of $13,000 and $5500 respectively for community hall upgrades under the latest round of the Stronger Communities Program.

Bolivia will invest its grant in interior works, while Steinbrook has a new kitchen rangehood in its sights.

Recently Mr Joyce also announced a $13,000 grant under this funding round for the Mingoola Hall Management committee to complete internal and external hall renovations.

"Long before Facebook, our local community halls were the original social media forums where people would catch up on local news and happenings," Mr Joyce said.

"These halls have had a mini revival in recent years led by passionate, civic-minded locals so it's great to help support the work they do for their communities."

Also awarded funding was Tenterfield & District Community FM Radio Association with $2547 for student training equipment including laptop computers and microphones.

"Tenterfield has a great program of supporting local students on the airwaves and this extra equipment will be a welcome boost for their training," Mr Joyce said.

The grants form part of the $22.65 million Round 6 of the Stronger Communities Program where up to $150,000 was made available for all 151 federal electorates across the country, including the New England. organisations were eligible for grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 for small capital projects that deliver social benefits for local communities.

For this funding round, grants will cover up to 100 per cent of eligible project costs as a special provision to support Australia's economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

An additional $28.2 million was provided in the 2021-22 Budget to extend the Stronger Communities Program to a seventh round of the program.
