LOCAL drivers travelled to Toowoomba earlier this month for the super sprints ‘night of champions’ where they were recognised for their contribution to this year’s series.

Drivers competing in the SCMSA Super Sprints and Short circuit Touring Car series attended the event where a number of honours were picked up.
Sheridan Layt was crowned Junior Champion while Neil O’Rielly placed second in the Sports Sedans 0-2000cc and David Hayne placed second in the Improved Production 0 – 1600cc.
Todd Hayne placed fourth while Stephen Roos won the 2000cc to 3000cc Sports Car class with Kylie Roos placing second in the 2000cc –3000cc Sports Car class.
Troy Gordon placed fifth in the All-wheel-drive class with Dana Cowley coming in 7th.
Peter Cowley, the only Tenterfield competitor in the Short Circuit Series, placed 4th overall in Sports Sedans.
The NSW competitors also took out the NSW vs QLD Noel Simpson Shield.
The series resumes next year with the first round at the end of February 2015.
