Nearly 30 clubs were represented in the field from NSW and Queensland with 192 players competing on Thursday, March 26 and 184 on Friday 27.
Thursday’s event saw the players contesting a 4 ball best ball Stableford across three divisions.
Major winners were Robyn Eastgate (Tfield) and Janet Heffernan (Brisbane) with 46 points in division one. Sandra Littlejohns (Laidley) and Penny King (Walcha) with 47 points in division two and Katie Hutchings and Chris Scheiwe (Laidley) with 48 points in division three.
Open Scratch Winners – Amanda Carr and Vanessa Ward (Armidale) – 34 with Nola Lobban and Chris Parker (Lismore) runners up with 26.
The best of the rest saw Venka Dadswell and Vanessa Ward win a three day package from the Tally Ho Motor Inn.
On Friday 184 Ladies teed off in a Single Stroke Event.
Open Gross Winner was Liz Hobday (Inverell) with 82 and runner-up went to Val Davidson (Tfield) with 83.
Winner of the Open Nett Event was Jacqueline Giles (Royal Qld) with 72 on a count back from Chris Tannock (Borneo Barracks) also with 72.
In the Division Gross Events Amanda Carr (Armidale) won division one, Michelle Cockburn won division two and Sally Gilder (Armidale) was the winner in division three.
The Nett Division Events winners were Chris Scheiwe (Laidley) division one, Julie Page (Tfield) division two and Wendy McFadden (Borneo Barracks) division three.
“The match committee would like to thank all those who helped and contributed to making this event an outstanding success,” one of the event organisers, Julie Gale said.
“Saturday saw six brave ladies contest a Club Trophy Stableford Event. Winner with 38 points was Marie Cook and runner up went to Julie Page on 31. Front nine winner was Letitia Jones and nearest the pin – Marie Cook,” Ms Gale said.
Wednesday, April 1 will be the first round of the Ladies Championship in conjunction with Monthly Medal and Putting and this will also be the second round of the NSW Women’s Golf Medal.
“Next weekend is Easter so please refer to your programme book for events,” Julie said.
